Info. for Parents
Important information for our parents...
Q: Is there before/after care?
A: No, Tots is a part time preschool program with classes that are on a set schedule.
Q: Do you provide the snack or do I?
A: Parkville Tots will provide a snack that follows the MSDE Baltimore County Approved Snack List. Click here to visit our Snack page. To be more eco-friendly and economical (less dixie cups!), we ask each child to bring their own water bottle (filled) to accompany their snack. Water for refilling it is available in each classroom if needed.
Q: How will you communicate with me?
A: Teachers and staff will communicate with parents through e-mail, meetings, monthly newsletters, progress reports, messages on information board in hallway.
Q: Do parents have certain responsibilites as the program is a co-op?
A: Yes, as a co-op program we work together to provide an exceptional high quality program at affordable prices. Parents are asked to volunteer at least twice a year and have multiple options for participating: you can take materials home to cut out or trace for the teachers, help out with a fundraiser, plan a holiday party or assist in the classroom. Parent helper days will not start until October as children need to adapt to the environment and learn the classroom routines. All parent helpers inside the classroom must complete a background check every year per Baltimore County Park & Rec. Please click here to complete the background check. Enter access code "BCGRec20".
Lastly, all parents are obligated to participate in up to two mandatory fundraisers. There may be additional fundraisers and spirit nights but these are optional and outside the mandatory fundraisers.
Q: How do I submit my paperwork?
A: All paperwork and payments, if not delivered in person, should be mailed to Parkville Tots at 8601 Harford Road, c/o PRC, Parkville, MD 21234
